1. The Peddler Steakhouse
Not only does The Peddler Steakhouse have great food, but it also has a rich history. When Charles Ogle and his wife built the structure in 1958, it was meant to be their dream home. In 1978, the home was renovated and opened as a restaurant. Great care was taken to preserve the unique aspects of the home, one of which is the stone chimney. The piece is now a permanent fixture in the restaurant’s dining room. As for food, the menu has plenty of great options. Everyone will be able to find something they love. The restaurant is ideal for groups of all sizes. If your party is on the larger side, you can call ahead on the day you are dining for an approximate wait time. The entrees include Prime Rib, Fresh Rainbow Trout, and Grilled Salmon. Each of these dishes comes with a hot side and the salad bar. At the end of your main course, be sure to save some room for dessert. Choose from Hot Blackberry Cobbler, Strawberry Shortcake, Key Lime Pie, and more!
2. The Cherokee Grill and Steakhouse
Visitors love the cozy mountain lodge atmosphere of the Cherokee Grill and Steakhouse. It is another one of the great Gatlinburg restaurants to go to for dinner. The name pays homage to the Cherokee Indian tribe, who once called the Great Smoky Mountains home. In fact, they nicknamed the iconic mountains, “Shaconage,” or “place of blue smoke.” The restaurant is accommodating for parties of all sizes. If you are dining with a larger party and are worried about long wait times, simply call ahead and make a reservation. There are plenty of options on the menu to satisfy everyone in your travel group. Start out with a Shrimp Cocktail appetizer and order the Fresh Herb Crusted Trout as an entree! Side dishes include Tennessee Blue Cheese Grits, Rice, and Broccoli. Adult guests can enjoy an alcoholic beverage with their meal. Order a glass of your favorite wine or try a microbrew crafted by the Smoky Mountain Brewery. They have a collection of Mainstays like the Mountain Light and the Cherokee Red Ale, as well as seasonal options. Don’t forget dessert! All guests can choose from mouth-watering dishes like the Cheesecake or Fruit Cobbler.
